INNOVATION AWARD

Hand formed aluminum by Noah Deledda
“I strip, polish and sculpt empty aluminum cans," says artist Noah Deledda. "The designs are created gradually by denting the cylinder and creasing it using the tips of my thumbs. Patterns of interacting dents allow a variety of designs to emerge.”

No, these are not created through the magic of Photoshop. The video below is a must-see.

The Innovation Award category did not exist in earlier years. Noah Deledda's work inspired the 2014 judges to create a new award category to recognize significant technical innovations in foldforming.

Noah is the only Innovation Award winner to date. Artists, the gauntlet has been thrown!
